Enhancement of Thermal Stability, Conductivity and Smoke Suppression of Polyethylene Composites with Exfoliated MoS<sub>2</sub> Functionalized with Magnetite

Abstract This work reports a facile fabrication method to modify exfoliated molybdenum disulfide (e-MoS2) nanosheets with magnetite nanoparticles various size distribution. The obtained materials have been utilized as nanofillers of polyethylene enhance its thermal properties and flame retardance. incorporation modified MoS 2 leads the reduction peak heat release rate. best conductivity has noticed for composites e-MoS /Fe 3 O 4 wt. % nanofillers. lowest CO emission was observed PE/e-MoS composite containing also Fe . All exhibited greater in respect pristine polyethylene.
